Farbe: Dämmerung auf nassem Sand.  Aroma: Kandierte Orange und Zitrone, wunderschön floral. Ein Touch von maritimer Würze und Zitrus.

Geschmack: Köstlich cremig mit Gerstennoten stark im Vordergrund.


Im Nachklang ein hot toddy - whisky, heißes Wasser, Honig und Zitrone.  Ausbau: American oak casks from ex-Bourbon and Tennessee whiskies

Besonderheit: non chill-filtered, natural colour, limited edition 18000 Flaschen. In den Daten steht auch, daß er 8 Jahre alt ist. Der unpeated Bruichladdich gemacht aus Scottish barley von der Mid Coul Farms, Dalcross ist Teil der Barley Provenance Series. Was es nicht alles gibt.


Eine von Bruichladdichs storytelling ist das Brimborium das um die Gerste von Islay gemacht wird. Diese hier, geerntet 2008 und 2009 verarbeitet, stammt von einer Bio Farm auf der Insel.


The whisky we distil from the organic barley of Mid Coul reflects the complex natural flavours of the landscape. Just as our stillmen refuse to abandon the traditional crafts of distillation in favour of automation or industrialisation, so farmer William Rose rejects the use of herbicides, pesticides and artificial fertilisers. Crop rotation is key. Our barley must take its turn in a seven year farm cycle that also produces organic cattle, sheep, oats, beans, grass, carrots, market gardening and a megawatt of green electricity. Respecting the land, the soil and the climate nourishes a genuine and thorough understanding of terroir and the results are pure Bruichladdich. Rich, complex and a fascinating expression of provenance, we can sense, feel and taste the results in the glass. Once again, land and dram united.
